1995年12月12日,“俄罗斯勇士”特技飞行表演队的三架飞机在飞至越南金兰湾空军基地时,由于能见度差,飞机撞了山,四名军官牺牲。他们是鲍里斯·格利高里耶夫上校、亚历山大·瑟罗沃依中校、尼古拉·格列恰诺夫中校和尼古拉·科尔久科夫中校。飞机是在结束95’马来西亚国际航展上的特技飞行表演,在回国途中失事的。飞行表演队由五架苏-27飞机和一架伊尔-76飞机组成,队长为里奇孔上校。导致飞机失事的原因是飞行员的飞行技术欠佳或是缺乏经验?表演队队员多次进行过特技飞行表演,也不能说是经验不足。1994年,飞行表演队的一些关键人物进行了更换,如亚历山大·里奇孔代替了原来富有经验的长机符拉基米尔·巴热诺夫。里奇孔虽然年轻,在专业方面不会令人怀疑。当时他在库宾卡基地飞行已经超过10年,在表演队成立伊始就在队里,是表演队的元老。作为长机,在这次飞行任务之前,他已经在许多次国内外飞行表演中展示过自己出众
