A survey of the causes of economic pressure on families of children suffering from tumors shows that the economic burden is one of their main concerns and costs fall into two categories: medical expenses and non-medical expenses. Medical expenses include diagnostic fees, registration fees, treatment fees, hospital fees and outpatient fees. Both the oncology research center and the local hospital have to pay this fee. The actual costs of non-medical care include costs that are due to illness and are not directly related to the diagnosis or treatment of the disease.
