Our cytogenetic study of peripheral blood lymphocytes in patients with Thibege-Weissenbach syndrome (scleroderma, calcifications, and telangiectasias) showed that there are chains or circular chromosomes in a few lymphocytes. The frequency of abnormal cells varies from specimen to specimen. The rate of abnormal mitotic phases is very low in diploid cells and much in tetraploid cells. The frequency of chromatid breaks does not end up increasing. The types of chromosomal abnormalities are also varied. In diploid cells, the ends of two or more chromosomes fuse into a chain-like structure, the number and length of the chains vary from cell to cell, and sometimes all chromosome ends of some chains fuse
