西藏位于中国的西南边疆,与多个国家和地区接壤,它雄踞世界海拔最高的青藏高原之上,向世人展示着独特的雪域风光。然而,曾几何时却因为它的高海拔,而使这里成为难以逾越的天险,让西藏交通陷入尴尬的境地。地广人稀的西藏在1951年和平解放之前,甚至没有一条现代公路。复杂的地形、恶劣的气候,使修路成为一件几乎不可能完成的任务。1954年西藏和平解放后,在中央政府的关心下,西藏现代意义上的公路——青藏、川藏公路陆续建成
Located on the southwestern frontier of China and bordering many countries and territories, Tibet occupies the highest elevation in the world on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and displays unique snow scenery to the world. However, it was only because of its high altitude that it made it an insurmountable natural barrier that put embarrassing traffic in Tibet. The vast and sparsely populated Tibet did not even have a modern road ahead of the peaceful liberation in 1951. Complicated terrain, bad weather, so that roads become a mission almost impossible. After the peaceful liberation of Tibet in 1954, under the concern of the Central Government, the roads in Tibet’s modern sense - the Qinghai-Tibet Highway and the Sichuan-Tibet Highway have been built one after another
