江总书记并中央: 近来小平同志病重,作为他的亲人,我们的心情十分沉重。我们知道,中央的同志们都很关心小平同志,也与我们一样,已开始考虑有关后事安排。小平同志是彻底的唯物主义者,对于生死问题的看法向来达观,关于他的后事近年来曾对我们多有交待。为了体现小平同志一生的追求和信念,完美地完成他人生的最后一个篇章,根据他的嘱托,我们提出如下意见: 一、不搞遗体告别仪式。小平同志历来主张丧事从简,不搞遗体告别仪式符合他的看法。二、追悼会在火化后举行。骨灰盒以中国共产党党旗覆盖,上方悬挂体现小平同志精神面貌的彩色照片,以表达庄重肃穆的气氛。三、家中不设灵堂。
