在铰削难加工材料零件的很多情况下,采用标准柱形铰刀,耐用度不够高,并不能保证所要求的表面光洁度。文中所推荐的柱形铰刀(见图)用于加工难加工材料、钢、铸铁、有色金属和合金时具有较高的效率。铰刀刀齿的圆柱部分(1)作有刃带,宽度不等,即从顶部的f_B均匀地减小到倒锥和圆柱部分的分界处时等0,齿顶刃带比标准刃带宽0.5~2倍,从而使其寿命提高0.3~1.5倍。
