In the peasant war in the late Ming and the Ming dynasty, “getting a king to come and not paying for grain” was one of the most widely publicized and most well-known slogans of the Li Zicheng uprising. At the time, this slogan played an important role in boosting Li Zicheng’s influence and winning the support and support of the poor people. However, the academic community only noticed the positive effect of the slogan but seldom linked it to the rapid demise of the Dushun regime. In fact, through the careful analysis of many historical materials, it can be found that the propaganda campaign of “going to the king and not bringing food” finally sent Li Zicheng’s regime to the road of no return.
