分析了工程应用方面专家系统特征，讨论了一种面向工程应用的专家系统开发工具———ＰＯＥＳＴ详细阐述了ＰＯＥＳＴ的知识表示、推理方法、知识获取方法，就ＰＯＥＳＴ的系统结构、知识库的生成、知识库的管理与维护、推理机制、ＰＯＥＳＴ与其它方面应用软件的集成、界面自动生成等问题进行了进一步的讨论最后介绍了ＰＯＥＳＴ可供用户使用的外部接口
This paper analyzes the characteristics of expert system in engineering application and discusses a kind of expert system development tool oriented to engineering application --- POEST It expounds POEST knowledge representation, reasoning method and knowledge acquisition method in detail, and analyzes POEST system structure, knowledge base Generation, management and maintenance of knowledge base, reasoning mechanism, integration of POEST with other applications, and automatic generation of interfaces. Finally, we introduce the external interface that POEST can be used by users
