How the U.S. economy will land After the new president, George W. Bush, will cut interest rates and reduce taxes, and the expansive monetary and fiscal policies will be pursued concurrently. The purpose of the plan is certainly to try to stop the recession in the U.S. economy. The view is that the sign of economic hard landing is the monthly or quarterly GDP declines without any room for maneuver. This view does not hold. Analyze hard landing or soft landing should look at the following four factors: First, look at the stock market. In a highly virtualized economy such as the United States, the stock market can be described as having a huge role to play, and its quotations to a certain extent constrain economic development. Nasdaq basically maintained at 2700 ~ 2800 points, investors take a wait-and-see attitude, obviously lack of confidence, only the stock
