证是体质特征与病因相互作用形成的疾病发病过程中某一阶段的病理变化的特点。如果将这一特征表现直接与方剂应用指征相联系,就形成了方证。体质和疾病是方证的核心构成要素。它们的相互作用形成了个体变化多端而又具有相对稳定特征的证候,体质类型决定着证候类型。完全可以将体质特征与方剂应用联系起来,以体质特征作为方剂应用的重要依据,与疾病的表现特点相结合,实现既具稳定性,又具灵活性的处方用药。应当加强对“方证体质”的研究,将体质判断与临床实践直接联系起来,使得体质作为中医学区别于现代医学的重要特征在中医学的临床诊疗体系中发挥其应有的作用。
