潘自力是解放后中共宁夏省委第一任书记、省各族各界人民代表会议协商委员会主席、省人民政府主席、省军区政委。他从1949年9月到职,到1951年10月调任西北军区政治部副主任,在宁夏工作了两年多。虽然在宁夏时间较短,但由于他在任期间保持和发扬了我党、我军的优良传统作风,坚持实事求是,密切联系群众,工作勤勤恳恳,作风深入、扎实,廉洁奉公,励精图治,政绩卓著,在宁夏的广大党员、干部和各族各界人民群众中树立了光辉的形象,留下深广的影响。一
