提出“重建经济学的伦理层面”的阿马蒂亚·森(Amartya Sen)被称为“经济学的良心”。他认为,自由是发展的首要目的,自由也是促进发展的不可缺少的重要手段。经济发展就其本质而言,是自由的扩展和增长。其《以自由看待发展》一书运用历史事例、经验证据以及有力而严格的分析,显示了广义而恰当地构想的发展对自由完全不怀敌意,相反,它正是由自由的扩展所组成。
Amartya Sen, who proposed “to rebuild the ethical dimension of economics,” is called “the conscience of economics.” He believes that freedom is the primary goal of development and that freedom is also an indispensable and important means of promoting development. Economic development by its very nature is free expansion and growth. The use of historical examples, empirical evidence, and a strong and rigorous analysis of his book The Freedom to Develop, shows that broadly and properly conceived development is completely hostile to freedom and that instead it consists of a free expansion.
