随着大西北的开发,本区工农业亦将有迅猛的增长,对一些新矿物原料的开发也必将日益迫切,海泡石在石油钻进、畜牧业及纺织、塘瓷、化工等多种现代工业中是一种有用的矿物原料。现据有关资料对海泡石作一综合介绍,以期在西北地区几个大型陆相盆地或海相沉积地质及其他相应的地质环境中找到海泡石矿床。 (一) 海泡石的性状海泡石成分为Mg_8[Si_(12)O_(30)](OH)_4·12H_2O,水分子中有4个结晶水,其余为沸石水,单斜晶系或斜方晶系。一般呈致密的土状块体,白色—浅灰色,不透明,硬度2—2.5,比重
