《上海文学》曾特辟专栏,请新加坡李汝琳先生主持,介绍新加坡华文小说,后来因李先生健康原因,停了几期,我们想乘此把李汝琳先生的作品介绍给大家。李汝琳先生是新加坡大学中文系主任,开始创作于三十年代,是我们的老前辈了。从他的作品来看,他虽然青年时代就定居新加坡,接受南洋社会现实的文化氛围,但他的创作仍然是中国新文学的传统意识。这次我们选载了先生写于1963年的《内疚》,这里的人物、矛盾、感情,都是中国的,我们能理解,能接受。寡妇再嫁。似乎给前夫的儿子蒙了羞辱,给母子感情上造成了一层障碍,一层隔阂母亲对儿子有内疚,还是儿子长大后对母亲有内疚,请读者自己剖析。写至此噩耗传来,李汝琳先生竟于三月二十七日在新逝世。不意前年一起游绍兴,经杭州返沪赶飞机,惊心动魄地赶到虹桥机场,匆匆一握竟成永诀,痛哉李先生!我代表《上海文学》同仁在此鞠躬
“Shanghai Literature” has a special column, invited by Mr. Li Rulin Singapore to introduce the Singapore Chinese novel, and later because of Mr. Lee for health reasons, stopped a few, we would like to take this to introduce Mr. Li Rulin’s work to you.
