To the editor:I congratulate the authors for conducting a meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials to investigate the efficacy and safety of the intravenous use of tranexamic acid (TA)in total knee arthroplasty (TKA).1 We do agree with them that TA effectively reduces blood loss and transfusion rate as well as transfusion volume after TKA and does not apparently increase the risk of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or pulmonary embolism (PE).2
