1矿山安全开采是国家重大需求煤炭在中国一次能源结构中长期处于重要地位。新中国成立以来,煤炭在一次能源消费构成中一直占70%以上。2010年国内煤炭消费29.65亿吨,占国内一次能源消费量的66%。按目前的生产和消费水平,可以开采使用100年以上。
