AIM:To discuss the effect of measuring sites to diagnosis of osteoporo-sis.METHODS:1087subjects were measured at both h ip and lumbar vertebra sites by DEXA.T 4 -L 4 X-ray were taken and the compressive frac-ture person were screened.To compare osteoporosis prevalence at different site and determine which site was sen sitive to diagnosis of osteoporo-sis.RESULTS:BMD in both site was gradually decreasing with age in-creasing.BMD of female was lower than that of male.The prevalence of os-teoporosis at hip was higher than that at lumbar vetebra for men and the prevalence of osteoporosis at lumber was higher than that at hip in wom-en.CONCLUSION:BMD at lumbar vetebra as a indicator t o diagnosis of osteoporosis is better than BMD at hi p for women.SUBJECT WORDS:densitometry,X-ray;osteoporosis/radiography;preva-lence;diagnosis
