习语作为人类的文化遗产、代代相传。在人们日常生活所使用的语言中有着十分重要的地位,广泛地应用于人们的日常交际以及报纸杂志,甚至在一些文学作品当中都有一些对于习语的使用,由于世界各个地区的文化背景、地理位置、民俗风情存在着一定程度的差异,就导致了世界各地的习语存在着不同,无论是在表达方式上,还是在使用的情境上都存在着一定的差异。而从当前中国的社会现状来看,人们对于英语的重视程度越来越高,甚至在人的日常生活中也会涉及到英语的使用,而英语系国家在习语的使用方面还存在着一定程度的差异,由此就导致了英语翻译工作者在翻译这些习语的时候会出现一些错误,因此本文将从习语的定义入手,通过对于习语定义的分析来进一步的了解到英汉习语的不同,了解到这些语言背后的文化,从而提出一些英汉习语翻译的技巧。
