仲夏五月,万绿成荫,芳菲渐寂,石榴花开,丹诚映日,灿红似火,故有唐代诗人韩愈的“五月榴花照眼明”佳句传颂。 石榴一名若榴,广雅云,若榴石榴也,丹宝垂垂,若赘瘤也。一名金罂,《笔衡》云,五代吴越王钱鏐改榴为金罂。一名金庞,《涌幢小品》云,杭越之间呼石榴为金庞,避钱鏐讳也。作为若榴、石榴、丹若等取名的意义,有就文取义之意。从若榴之名,又引出了若榴木之称。
