何遂在《辛女革命亲历纪实》一文中回忆,燕晋双方首领吴禄贞与阎锡山进行的娘子关会晤的日期是辛亥(1911)年9月16日(见《辛亥革命回忆录》第一集。录于《武汉文史资料》第四辑上的《吴禄贞与辛亥革命》和《袁世凯行刺吴禄贞的经过》两文亦从此说)。由于何遂是娘子关会晤的燕方随从之一,其回忆的可信度似乎很高。然而,经笔者查阅有关史料分析得知:史实并非如此。 娘子关会晤后.晋方首领阎锡山在《掌握山西武力与太原起义前后》一文中这样回忆道:“我们约于太原石家庄间之娘子关。吴将军(指吴禄贞)于9月14日(大原光复后6日)偕旅长吴鸿昌、参谋何遂依约而来” (《辛亥革命史料选辑》下册);燕方首领
