罗炳辉是我国无产阶级革命家、军事家。他1897年12月22日诞生在云南省镇雄县(今属彝良县)农民家庭,少年投身军队,参加讨袁护国战争和北伐战争,以战功显赫、操守极严而驰誉行伍。1929年7月,他秘密加入中国共产党,同年领导吉安起义,率部加入中国工农红军,历任红军独立团团长、旅长,红12军军长兼福建军区总指挥,红9军团军团长,参与创建中央革命根据地,参与指挥中央苏区五次
Luo Binghui is a proletarian revolutionary and military strategist in our country. He was born on December 22, 1897 in a farmer family of Zhenxiong County, Yunnan Province (now Yiliang County). Youngsters joined the army and participated in the Yuanbao Hu-Guo War and the Northern Expedition. They were renowned for their superior combat power and their integrity and reputation. In July 1929, he secretly joined the Communist Party of China and led the Ji’an Uprising in the same year. He led the army to join the Red Army of the Chinese Workers and Peasants. He served successively as head of the Red Army Independence Brigade, commander of the Brigade 12, commander of the Red 12 Army, and commander of the Fujian Military Region, Participate in creating the Central Revolutionary Base and participate in directing the Central Soviet Area five times
