怎样才能实现财富增长?这是经济学最古老的命题。从重商主义开始,到重农主义,再到英国古典学派,思想家们莫不围绕这一命题展开讨论。今天,当经济增长问题重新引起人们关注的时候,经济学又多多少少地回到了这一命题上。尽管当代经济增长理论的讨论在深度和广度上都远远超越了这一古老命题的最初范围,但是,现代经济增长在本质上仍然是财富的增长。唯其如此,所以当代的经济增长理论自然而然地在古典政治经济学巨著《国富论》中找到了自己的源头。
How to Realize the Growth of Wealth? This is the oldest proposition of economics. From the mercantilism to the agrarianism, and then to the British classical school of thought, thinkers can not discuss this proposition. Today, when the issue of economic growth regains attention, economics returns more or less to this proposition. Although the discussion of contemporary theory of economic growth has far exceeded the original scope of this ancient proposition both in depth and in breadth, the growth of modern economy is still essentially an increase in wealth. Only in this way, the contemporary theory of economic growth naturally finds its own source in the book “The Wealth of Nations” in the classical political economy.
