快速原型制造(Rapid prototyping)技术被宣布为一项热门技术,但是最近进展有些混乱。SME的快速原型制造协会(RPA)的一位发起入Wohlers每年都要对快速原型制造业进行研究调查。他在5月19日～21日举行的RPA第六次年会及展示会上发表的最新报告中说,去年有19家全球性的系统制造商在吞并他人或自相吞并的同时,实现了盈亏平衡或变为盈利,其中包括3D Systems公司购买了EOS的立体光造型业务部,BPM Technology公司倒闭,Helisys成为Sanders Prototype ModelMaker的经销商并宣称只对企业兼并或收购感兴趣。
Rapid prototyping is proclaimed a hit, but recent developments have been a bit confusing. A launch by SME’s Rapid Prototyping Association (RPA) into Wohlers investigates the rapid prototyping industry every year. In his latest report released at the RPA’s 6th Annual Conference and Exhibition from May 19th to 21st, he said that last year, 19 global system manufacturers realized or merged with other global system manufacturers Breakeven or become profitable, including the 3D Systems business that purchased EOS’s Stereo Light Modeling business, the BPM Technology company goes down, Helisys becomes the Sanders Prototype ModelMaker distributor and claims only interested in corporate mergers or acquisitions.
