Closed Loop Testing The additional computing power of fifth generation ATEs, coupled with digital devices that significantly improve reliability, has recently enabled the effective implementation of closed loop testing. In this case, the ’closed loop’ applies to the ATE simulation task where the SUT is to be used and then the ’real life’ performance is estimated. The above notion has existed in the UK since at least 1970 when it tested the aircraft’s blind landing autopilot in a closed loop. Simulation computer is used to simulate aircraft dynamics and space kinematics. Autopilot performance is estimated by measuring the vertical velocity and decay rate at landing. Unfortunately, this type of test is inefficient due to the often malfunctioning of analog computers. Therefore, it has never been scheduled to move the most
