英语课外活动是学校在教学计划和教学大纲范围之外,对学生实施有计划、有组织的英语教育教学活动。英语课外活动是整个英语教学过程的一个有机组成部分,它是英语课堂教学必不可少的辅助形式,是在课外创造英语环境,给学生提供更多的语言实践机会的有效手段,是课堂教学的重要补充,是它的延续和深化。它与英语课堂教学密切相关,是实现英语教学目的的重要途径之一,也是教师改进教学方法,增加课堂上语言实践的广度与密度的有效途径。搞好英语课外活动有利于学生增长知识,开阔视野,发展智力和培养英语人才的重要途径,有利于提高课堂教学质量,培养学生学习英语兴趣。因此,我们英语教学工作者要重视开展各种适合学生语言水平和年龄特点的课外活动。
English extracurricular activities are schools outside the scope of teaching plans and syllabuses, the implementation of planned and organized English education and teaching activities for students. English extra-curricular activities are an integral part of the English teaching process. It is an indispensable auxiliary form of English classroom teaching. Therefore, we English teaching workers should pay attention to carry out a variety of extracurricular activities suitable for students’ language level and age characteristics.
