报纸是以刊载新闻和时事评论为主的定期向公众发行的印刷出版物。是大众传播的重要载体,具有反映和引导社会舆论的功能。报纸作为较早的新闻媒介,对社会经济的发展做出了巨大的作用。而报纸作为一种大众新闻传播媒介并没有因经济社会的发展、时代的变迁退出人类历史发展的舞台,反而由于其自身具有的优点,如携带方便,可随时阅读、不受时间限制、可互相传阅等成为社会发展、人民生活中不可缺少的一种新闻媒介。
