迎着新世纪的曙光,党和国家适时实施了西部大开发战略。自治区抓住这一历史性机遇,提出了加快经济结构调整力度,加快优势资源转换步伐,突出重点,扶优扶强,以天山北坡经济带率先发展,带动全区经济快速发展的新疆大开发战略。五年的实践证明,自治区党委、政府的这一决策十分正确,完全符合新疆的实际;天山北坡经济带各地贯彻自治区这一战略决策坚决有力,成效显著。如今的天山北坡经济带以其快速发展的勃勃生机,对全区经济的发展起到了重要的支撑和示范带动作用。
In the dawn of the new century, the party and the state have implemented the strategy of developing the west region in due course. The autonomous region seized this historic opportunity and put forward the measures to accelerate the readjustment of the economic structure, speed up the pace of resource conversion, highlight the key points and give priority to the development of the economic belt on the northern slope of the Tianshan Mountains and promote the rapid development of the economy in Xinjiang strategy. Five years of practice have proved that the decision made by the party committees and governments in the autonomous regions is quite correct and in full conformity with the actual situation in Xinjiang. The strategic decision to implement the autonomous region throughout the northern Tianshan Economic Belt is resolute and forceful with remarkable results.
