日本半导体大厂东芝株式会社今日宣布将正式采用该公司与美国BridgEIux合作的技术量产硅基板LED芯片,采用的半导体厂生产线为日本北部的加贺东芝株式会社,也就是该公司先前的8英寸晶圆厂,预定于2012年10月开始量产。高效节能、长寿命的白光LED已经广泛运用于生活照明中如电视的背光照明等等。白光LED市场逐渐扩大,预计2013年时市场规模能从2011年度的7000亿日圆(8.75亿美元)成长到1兆日圆。
