《同根共荣》(见本期彩页)是一大型三角枫盆景,形态比较自然,寓意也较深。它的创作过程充分说明只有立意在先,才能更好地运用艺术手法,以盆景的自然美、艺术美来体现和揭示盆景的意境美。为了得到行家的进一步指点,现将该作品制作中的有关情况介绍如下。多年来,一直想创作一盆能体现祖国统一,民族团结,社会繁荣昌盛的树桩盆景,但苦于坯材难选,未能如愿。1993年春一次偶然的机会购得一大型三角枫桩头,该桩头杂乱无章,但经仔细观察,竟使我拍案叫绝。那粗大而墩实的根基(围90厘米)不正是我们几千年文
