大朵令箭荷花花期较短。有的书上介绍说能开1～2天,也有的书上说可维持4天。在我地,由于气候寒冷,风干物燥,实际上仅能开18～20小时,至24小时时已萎蔫(小朵令箭荷花花期相对长一些)。我因偏爱其花,多年来着实花了不少心思,但都难见效果。2007年仲夏,我将一朵残花切下,纵剖观察,见其花筒中空,花柱是从简底部靠近叶茎一端长出的,数几十根雄蕊则从筒前半部内壁长出(图1、2),花苞开放
