美国的全球定位系统(GPS)是由空军牵头,向战术和战略组织分发位置、速度和定时数据的天基三军联合导航项目。整个系统由空间部分、地面控制部分和用户设备部分组成。用户设备包含手持使用及地面、机载和舰载应用的接收机。军用GPS接收机使用精确定位服务(PPS)信号,来获得商用设备无法获得的高精度和信号保护。
The United States’ Global Positioning System (GPS) is a space-based, three-armed joint navigation project led by the Air Force that distributes position, velocity and timing data to tactical and strategic organizations. The entire system consists of space part, ground control part and user equipment part. User equipment includes hand-held use and ground, airborne and carrier-based receivers. Military GPS receivers use Precise Positioning (PPS) signals to achieve high accuracy and signal protection not available on commercial equipment.
