“文化意识”是综合语言运用能力的一个组成部分。《英语课程标准》二级中对“文化意识”的目标描述要求学生要“了解英语国家中重要的节假日。”英美传统节日是英美文化的重要组成部分,也是了解英美政治、经济、文化、风俗、习惯的一个重要窗口。在小学英语教学中穿插一些有关节日的文化知识,不仅可以提高学生学习英语的兴趣,同时可增强学生对英美文化的理解
