20世纪的金属雕塑在现代雕塑史上以及整个雕塑艺术史上都具有重要的影响。中国现代金属雕塑是西方现代文化世界性发展和影响的产物。在接受西方现代艺术语言形式影响的同时,又力求保持自我的民族文化特征。中国现代金属雕塑在语言形式上与西方相比,存在着较为明显的学习西方的痕迹,装饰性语言发展得较为普遍,缺少现代性和民族传统文化精神融合生长等特征。总之,中国现代金属雕塑的存在方式是一个不断发展的、否定之否定的过程。
Twentieth century metal sculpture in the history of modern sculpture and the history of the entire sculpture have a significant impact. Modern Chinese metal sculpture is a product of the worldwide development and influence of modern Western culture. While accepting the influence of the language form of Western modern art, it strives to maintain its own national and cultural characteristics. Compared with the western countries, the modern Chinese metal sculptures have more obvious traces of learning the West, the development of decorative language is more common, and the lack of modernity and the fusion of national traditional and cultural spheres are the features of modern Chinese metal sculpture. In short, the existence of modern Chinese metal sculpture is a process of continuous development and negation of negation.
