Education in the colonial period of the United States was an important part of the social culture at that time. Its establishment and development were closely linked with the development of social economy and politics at the time. In the past, this problem was rarely valued by academic historians in this field. This article makes a preliminary introduction and analysis. A New England is the most developed place for education in the colonial period of the United States where schools were established earlier and the number and type of schools and the proportion of the population educated among them are among the top 13 colonies. Its development is inseparable from the aspirations of Puritan emigrants to realize their religious reforms. They are determined to establish a model society in North America that truly reflects the spirit of Puritanism.
