Objective: To investigate the significance of screening ankle brachial index (ABI) and color doppler ultrasound (CDFI) in diabetic lower extremity vascular diseases in Xining area, Qinghai Province. Methods: From December 2012 to February 2014 in our hospital physical examination center in Xining, 150 cases of type 2 diabetes mellitus and 147 cases of non-diabetic population ABI detection, ABI ≤ 0.9, ABI ≥ 1.3 abnormalities were simultaneously double Lower extremity vascular color Doppler ultrasound examination and control analysis. Results: Abnormal ABI was detected in 18 of 150 diabetic patients, accounting for 12.00%. Among 147 non-diabetic patients, 9 were detected ABI abnormalities, accounting for 6.12% of the total. There were significant differences in ABI abnormalities between the two groups (P <0.05). There were 7 cases (38.89%) with abnormal ABI in diabetic group and 1 case (11.11%) with non-diabetic group. There was significant difference between the two groups (P <0.01). Conclusion: The combined ankle-brachial index and lower extremity vascular color Doppler ultrasound in the early screening of diabetic lower extremity vascular disease has an important guiding significance.
