2001年,北京将举办第21届世界大学生运动会(简称世界大运会)。作为东道主,我们热切地期盼着盛会的来临;作为东道主,我们有必要了解世界大运会的情况。为此特将世界大运会的产生与发展及中国积极参与大运会的情况作一简介。 (一) 早在1923年在法国的多尔港,曾举办过一次世界大学生运动会。这是最早的一次国际大学生的体育盛会。第二年,一些国家的大学生又在华沙举行体育比赛,项目只有男子田径、游泳与击剑三项。接着又先后在罗马、多特蒙德、都灵、布达佩斯和巴黎等地举行了类似的比赛。1938年原定在维也纳举行,但由于纳粹德国吞并奥地利,盛会改在摩纳哥举行。此后大运会因第二次世界大战而中断。 1948年,由各国大学生体育协
In 2001, Beijing will host the 21st World University Games (World Universiade for short). As a host, we are eagerly looking forward to the grand occasion; as a host, we need to understand the situation of the Universiade. To this end, the World Universiade will give special consideration to the emergence and development of China and its active participation in the Universiade.
