据调查,广西蔬菜害虫共有270种,其中夜蛾科有19种,占蔬菜害虫总数的7%。近年来,夜蛾逐渐猖獗为害蔬菜,成为为害严重的一类害虫,如斜纹夜蛾、甜菜夜蛾、银纹夜蛾、小地老虎等。这类害虫食性杂、分布广、为害重、抗药性强,给防治工作带来很大的困难。1978年在美国最早报道甜菜夜蛾对灭多威产生了抗性,尔后世界各地陆续报道该虫对拟除虫菊酯类、马拉硫磷、甲基对硫磷产生抗药
