我一直想在党领导我们祖国走向社会主义的新的历史时期,写一首具有时代特点的颂歌。《伟大的国家伟大的党》一词,正好提供了这样的创作基础,激起了我巨大的激情和乐想的浪花。于是我废寝忘食地投入了极度兴奋的创作之中,并且很快地从心里流出了自我感觉是宏伟、豪迈的旋律。但是,出现两三个乐句之后,写不下去了。主要是五个“伟大”——伟大的国家、伟大的党、伟大的人民、伟大的军队、伟大的毛泽东思想(原为“伟大的领袖毛泽东”)难以处理。按照惯例,对待“伟大”这样重要的“警句”,都是应该相应地加以强调的。其表现手法之一,就是以高亢的音调,唱出高昂的情绪。可想而知,如果五个“伟大”都给以如此的强调,那么,在一首歌曲的有限音域之内,就无以复加了。如何解决呢?苦思而不得其术。当乐想不
