艾丽斯·默多克是英国当代著名的哲学家和小说家。她运用文学想象和艺术的表现手法构建出自己的文学世界,向读者传递她的哲学思想和宗教观念。同时,她将自己的哲学思想融入到小说创作中去,又使她的小说呈现出一种独特的哲学韵味。《独角兽》不是最优秀的作品,但可以称得上是最具特色的一部,是典型的默多克式的作品。小说交织着宗教、爱情、畸形恋爱、自由、道德和命运等元素,充满哲学意味。本文分析了默多克《独角兽》的叙事策略与主题。
Alice Murdoch is a famous British contemporary philosopher and novelist. She uses literary imagination and artistic expression to construct her own literary world and convey her philosophical and religious ideas to her readers. At the same time, she integrates her own philosophical thoughts into novel creation, and makes her novels show a unique philosophical charm. “Unicorn” is not the best work, but it can be regarded as the most unique one, is a typical Murdoch-style works. Fiction intertwines elements of religion, love, deformity, freedom, morality and destiny and is full of philosophical meanings. This article analyzes Murdoch’s “Unicorn” narrative strategy and theme.
