新疆国际民族舞蹈节是国家级对外文化艺术交流平台,是文化部重点支持的全国对外文化交流品牌项目之一。新疆有13个世居民族,每个民族都有着十分丰厚的传统舞蹈文化积淀,堪称我国民族民间文化的瑰宝,并在世界上都具有广泛的影响。2008年和2011年两届国际民族舞蹈节的成功举办,为新疆发展民族文化和歌舞艺术提供了坚实的基础和市场传播空间,两届舞蹈节的举办,既展示了新疆各民族歌舞艺术的传统风貌及创新成果,也使新疆的舞蹈从业者以开放、坦诚、包容的态度进行深入地探讨、学习,为更好地继承传统、创新发展、精心打造民族舞蹈艺术精品和品牌奠定了坚实的基础,也为发展和繁荣新疆舞蹈艺术产生了深远的意义和积极的作用。
