中单12号系中国农业科学院作物育种栽培研究所于1980年用中白17做母本,许052做父本杂交育成。1981～1983年在侯马春播品比试验,平均亩产1132.5公斤,比单白4号增产15.3％:与中单2号产量差异不显著,春播时比中单2号产量略低,夏播时比中单2号略增产。通过大面积麦田套播生产示范,一般亩产400～500公斤。1988年3月山西省第14次品种审定委员会认可推广品种特征特性中单12号幼苗和成株长相、穗型、适应性与中单2号相似。其优点:籽粒灌浆到顶、苞
