多丽丝·莱辛的《南船座中的老人星:档案》五部曲以宇宙太空为背景,描绘了太空世界中殖民地的他者形象:原始、落后、野蛮、愚蠢、丑陋。突出的他者有“兽化”的罗姆比斯人、“半人半兽”的矮人族、停滞退化的巨人族等。迥异的“他者”表征体现了太空殖民者的种族差异论与种族优越论。莱辛在想象的太空世界,应用殖民化的表述语言,展示了帝国殖民者为入侵、控制其他种族而采取的叙述策略,揭示了殖民者的种族歧视与残暴行径。
Doris Lessing’s “The Elder Star in the South: The Archives” quintet, depicting the image of the colony of the cosmonauts in the outer space universe, is based on cosmic space: primitive, backward, brutal, stupid, ugly. Prominent others include the “romance” of the “beast”, the dwarves of the “half-human half-beast”, the giants of stagnation, and the like. The distinctive “Other ” characterizes the theory of racial difference and racial superiority of space colonizers. Lessing in the imaginary space world, Lessing demonstrated the colonialist language of racial discrimination and the atrocious narrative tactics used by the colonialists to invade and control other races.
