Each year, Monumenta, an installation art project sponsored by the French Ministry of Culture and Transport, invites an internationally renowned contemporary artist to create a piece of work for a specific area with an area of 13,500 square meters. The Grand Palais is a more intimidating location than the whirlpool lobby of the Tate Modern - and its architecture, even if its size does not give you a sense of awe. This year it was the fifth time that Monumenta invited Daniel Buren, a French conceptual artist, whose work “Excentrique (s), travail in situ” made the Grand Palais in May 10 - June 21 immersed in a colorful light of the forest.
