Obesity can have many adverse health effects. Studies have shown that obesity is associated with the development of many invasive cancers. However, there is still little understanding of the mechanisms involved. A recent study by researchers from France, published in a recent article in the international journal Nature Communications, set forth a new mechanism by which obesity boosts the progression of prostate cancer. They found that adipose tissue around the prostate in obese patients promotes the growth of prostate tumor cells. This finding or provide a new idea for the treatment of prostate cancer. During the development of prostate cancer, tumor cells may infiltrate into the perivascular adipose tissue: this is a crucial step needed for the further development of prostate cancer. Researchers found this phenomenon
