陕西省戏曲演出团在北京参加了庆祝建国十周年献礼演出之后,第一次横跨长江到江南巡回演出.该团于十月二十二日到达南京,当晚即举行招待演出,为各界演出了碗碗腔古典剧《借水赠(金义)》,郿鄠现代剧《情投意合》,秦腔古典剧《虎口缘》和《放裴》等四出折子戏,受到观众热烈欢迎.该团自十月二十三日至二十六日在人民剧场公演四天,演出了秦腔《游西湖》、《三滴血》、《赵氏孤儿》;郿鄠现代剧《梁秋燕》、碗碗腔《白玉瑱》五出大型戏,获得南京观众普遍好评.三大秦班一时轰动南京,因公演日期太短,向隅观众不计其数.为了满足更多的观众看到三大秦班的演出,该团还抽出两个上午为文艺界演出了《三滴血》和《赵氏孤儿》.
