本机床用来加工212型汽车循环球转向机的转向螺母。该机床布置紧凑,结构轻巧,转位及夹紧机构均采用气动控制,操作简便。被加工的转向螺母需要经过钻、扩、(金忽)和攻丝等九道工序。机床有十个工位,工件采取流水式加工,即九个工位同时进行切削。当刀具退刀后,工件自行由第一工位转到第二工位,刀具再进行切削。当工件由第一工位转到第十工位时,即表示加工完毕,卸装一个工件。机床每转位一次,需要55秒钟,即55秒钟就加工完一个工件。
