“4643”是湖北省农科院经作所近年来育成的优良新品系。据报道,其内在品质优良,达到优质棉第一档次标准,纤维晶白,有光泽,卖花品级高;并具有一定耐枯萎病能力。历年区试结果,皮棉产量与鄂荆1号相当。为了探明该品系产量生产力形成的规律及其生理机制,以在栽培上采用相应措施,充分发挥其生产潜力,在育种上对该品系进一步改良提供一定的理论依据,我们于1989年在本校设置了本试验。试验以鄂荆1号为对照,采用每亩2500株(代号D_(25))和3500株(代号D_(35))两种密度,随机排列,5次重复,小区面积16.67平方米,4行区;营养钵育苗移栽,4月9日播种,5月16日套栽于小麦田预留行中;试验地为田,二黄土,肥力中等,每亩总施肥量(纯氮)11公斤,采用常规栽培措施(未使用生长调节剂)。现将试验结果报告如下。
