稀土金属是元素周期表ⅢB族中的钪、钇和镧系等17种金属元素的总称。它们包括:钪(Se)、钇(Y)、镧(La)、铈(Ce)、镨(Pr)、钕(Nd)、钷(Pm)、钐(Sm)、铕(Eu)、钆(Gd)、铽(Tb)、镝(Dy)、钬(Ho)、铒(Er)、铥(Tm)、镱(Yb)、镥(Lu)。通常把镧、铈、镨、钕、钷、钐、铕称为轻稀土或铈组稀土;钇、铽、镝、钬、铒、铥、镱、镥、钇称为重稀土或钇组稀土。这17种元素的化学性质很相似,在自然界
Rare earth metals are the general term for 17 kinds of metal elements such as scandium, yttrium and lanthanides in Group ⅢB of the periodic table. They include: Sc, Y, La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Pm, Sm, Eu, Gd Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb and Lu. Lanthanum, cerium, praseodymium, neodymium, samarium, samarium and europium are usually called rare earth or cerium rare earths; yttrium, terbium, dysprosium, holmium, erbium, gallium, ytterbium, gallium and yttrium are called rare earth or yttrium group rare earths.
