Weyerhaeuser, a US-based paper company, recently announced a technology licensing agreement with DuPont Pioneers to collaborate in the development of seed technology to meet the growing global demand for food, feed and cellulose. US Weyerhaeuser company engaged in tree planting and forestry products business. The company’s wood products are used in the fiber, plastics and energy sectors. The agreement brings together agriculture and forestry technologies to increase the crop yields of corn growers globally in a sustainable manner. Based on Weyerhaeuser NR’s scientific research on sustainable forestry for many years, its seed production technology has involved the storage, nutrition, cultivation and growth of pluripotent cells. This technology enables high-value regenerated plant material to be obtained at a lower cost.
