Two-dimensional and Doppler echocardiography was used to compare left ventricular hemodynamic changes in healthy people and patients with coronary artery disease during Valsalva’s motion. The results showed that in the stage of Valsalva’s motion, left ventricular end-diastolic volume and stroke volume were significantly decreased and heart rate was increased in normal people. On the contrary, there was no significant change in these parameters in patients with coronary heart disease. This article reveals characteristic hemodynamic changes in Valsalva patients with severe left ventricular dysfunction. Therefore, the Valsalva action is a bedside diagnosis of left ventricular dysfunction, a simple method.
